The AFGE Veterans program brings union members, who are military veterans, together to speak out on the issues that impact veterans most.

The 3 key objectives of AFGE veterans are advocacy, recognition and mentorship.

  • Advocate: Mobilize AFGE veterans around issue campaigns and elections
  • Recognize: carryout events to recognize members who exemplify outstanding achievements in the Local
  • Mentor: Each Local appoints a “Veterans Coordinator” to help member vets identify benefits and resources as they transition to the federal civil service.
